Managing Subscriptions

Subscription Tracker’s intuitive table interface makes subscription management fast and easy. Use the Add Subscription button to create new entries, click directly on any field to edit, and open the Manage (⋮) dropdown for deletion, notes, or (Pro) renewal history.

Adding Subscriptions

  1. Navigate to Subscription Tracker → My Subscriptions.
  2. Click the blue Add Subscription button above the table.
  3. In the modal, complete the fields (Name, Cost, Start Date, Category) and click Save.

Editing Subscriptions

  1. Click any field (Subscription Name, Type, Billing, Start Date, Amount, or Tags) in the table to activate inline editing. The Renewal Date is auto configured based on the Start Date and Billing Type (monthly, annual).
  2. For dates, type a new date or click the calendar icon to open the date picker.
  3. Press Enter or click outside the field to save your changes automatically.

Deleting Subscriptions

  1. Click the Manage (⋮) dropdown on the subscription’s row.
  2. Select Delete and confirm the action in the prompt.

Adding Notes

  1. Open the Manage (⋮) dropdown on the subscription row.
  2. Select Add Note.
  3. Enter your note in the modal and click Save Note.

Viewing Renewal History (Subscription Tracker Pro)

  1. Click the Manage (⋮) dropdown on the subscription’s row.
  2. Select View Renewal History.
  3. Review past renewal dates and costs in the history modal.

Calendar View (Subscription Tracker Pro)

The Calendar view provides a month‑by‑month snapshot of all upcoming subscription renewals and free trial expirations, letting you quickly visualize deadlines and plan ahead.

  1. Navigate to Subscription Tracker → My Subscriptions.
  2. Click the Calendar icon in the top‑right corner of the table toolbar.
  3. The calendar displays each renewal or trial expiration as a colored event on its due date.
  4. Use the left/right arrows to move between months, or click Today to return to the current month.
  5. Click any event on the calendar to open its edit modal — you can update details, change dates, add notes, or delete the entry directly.
  6. Switch back to Table view at any time by clicking the Table icon in the toolbar.

The Calendar view makes it easy to see all upcoming subscription renewals and trial expirations at a glance — helping you avoid missed deadlines and better manage your recurring expenses.

Note: For improved accuracy of alerts, please ensure your timezone is correctly configured in WordPress’s Settings > General > Timezone.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use consistent naming conventions to avoid duplicate subscriptions.
  • Verify renewal dates after editing to prevent missed reminders.
  • Add notes for important context like contract terms or owner details.
  • Regularly clean up inactive subscriptions to keep your dashboard uncluttered.
